Mr. Read was expected to be the star crowd g«u®r oi tite lectuie eourse, and when ue took sick following his advertised appearance there were many expressions oi regj et, and the public refused to be satisfied with any other entertainer £3 a substitute. And co, after some solicitation by the library lecture board, Mr. Read has been secured and will be here next Tuesday evening. The house should bo packed as it has never’ been before. Mr. Read has secured a place in the hearts of those who have read his works that can not b* displaced and it should be an opportunity that none should miss to hear him speak. | He has various programs that he uses, and the different numbers Include many of his most popular sketches, among them, ’’NegroWhims,” “Big Bill and Little BUI.” “Shooting Out the Moon," "The Bronsons,” “Reading Book Reviews" and others. Others may recite these stories but none can send through the veins the same thrill of realisation that Ople Read produces. He has lived these tales as he has written them and his presence lends a strange enchantment to the stories. Don’t miss this number, which concludes the lecture course.
