Hurley. - The musicale Saturday night was quite a success, socially and finan-' eially. | Quarterly meeting will he held at the M. E. church next Saturday and Sunday. Quarterly conference Satur- 1 day at 2 o’clock and Elder Wood will * preach Sunday at 1 o’clock. George Brohards are building an addition to their house in the northwest part of town. N. A. McKay is doing the work. j WANTED —A few more good, sober men to help keep the saloon out of Fair Oaks. We have a very nice respectable set of boys in F. 0. and we would like to keep them that way. { Charles Halleck is doing quite a lively business just now preparing and delivering fruit trees. There is to be a good, old fashioned temperance meeting Saturday night,' March 28, at the Christian church, 1 Everybody invited. A. L. McKain, of Altoona, Pa., a brother of Mrs. Dr. Proudley, is here on business. j We hear that the hotel on Kent street is to change hands April Ist Emory Cox, the present occupant, will move into the Proudley house and j Milt Gundy will take his place in the hotel. 1 1 Mrs. Ben Zellers is visiting her parents in Winamac this week. The scent of orange blossoms is In the air already this spring. The Dr. and wife have been very poorly for the past week. Mrs. M. D. Car is still unable to get about. Dr. Fife Is- having his drug business removed to the Mallatt store room.
