Death of Miss Zulu Hopkins.
At 1:30 o’clock this Saturday morning Miss Zulu Hopkins, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hopkins, passed into death. She had been a sufferer for the past five years and for more than two years her sickness had been so severe as to indicate that she must ultimately succumb to if, Last fall, however, she became somewhat .Improved and again was the hope entertained that she might be restored to health but the first ©f January she had a severe attack of the grip and this resulted in renewing ail her previous troubles as, well, as creating a severe cough that produced hemorrhages from the lungs and Injured the heart and when the patient was taken so the Presbyterian hospital In Chicago about two weeks ago it was with little expectation that specialists there would be able to do her any good. On their advice she was returned home and it was then re alized that the end was not far away. She gradually weakened until the end came. She was a great sufferer but bore her burden uncomplainingly and during the years of her illness she endeared herself to all who knetir her and brought from all her acquaintances an expression of admiration for her uncomplaining forbearance. Death occurred on the birthday of her brother, Walter Hopkins, who belongs to the regular army, and who was on his way home at the time of her death. It was also the birthday of her aunt, Mrs. E. D. Rhoades She was born June 14, 1882, and was 25 years, 8 months and 23 days of age. She was the oldest of three children, and with the parents, the brother and sister, the entire community joins in grief at her death.
