Prize Awarded in Soap Contest.
The soap guessing contest just closed by the G. E. Murray Co. prdved very Interesting and many persons endeavored to figure out how many cakes of soap were used in the construction of the miniature U. S. capitol in the large show window. The number of cakes of soap used was 3,044, and the following persons were the prize winners: First prize, $lO cloak or coat. Miss Jennie Eib, 3,041. Second prize, $lO ladies’ or gent’s rain coat, Mrs. E. Merritt, 3,050. Third prize, $5 fur or wool blankets, Bert Abbott, 3,051, Fourth prize, one-half barrel Sleepy Eye flour, Otto Anderson, 3,028. Fifth prize, one easy Standard to-" matoes, John Healy, Otto Anderson, A. Simpson and Della Smith, all tied with a guess of 3,025. Sixth prize, $1 pair ladies’ or gent’s gloves, Chas. Frouly.
