Charles Biddle Pays Wife (300 3 ad Is Released From Criminal • Prosecution. Charles Biddle, who was recently arrested In Tippecanoe county ««4 brought here on a charge of wife desertion, avoided criminal action hy having his attorneys, A. Hal leek and Will R. Wood and Flannlgan, of Lafayette, arrange terms of compro* mise with the attorney for the wife, Moses Leopold. This makes it muck better all file way around. Biddle escapes a jail "or penitentiary and the wife gets some financial aid, where* she would have had none. On motion of the plaintiff’s attorney the criminal action was nolle prosse4 and the compromise judgment rendered. It gives the wife S3OO, which the defendant is to pay into the court, S6O down and the balance in monthly installments of $lO. Biddle and wife lived at Remington and have been three times married and twice divorced and they have proven so far as they are concerned that marriage is a failure. Biddle returned to Lafayette on the 10:5| train and Mrs. Biddle, who was accompanied here by her father, returned to their home in Remington.
