Will Fight Short Hour Law.

Today in Washington representatives of all the great .railway systems will confer with the interstate commerce commission and will make a determined effort to secure relief from the .law .that makes it unlawful for operators to work over nine hours a day. They urge that the, heavy expenditure that this law will necessitate will not add to the safety of the traveling public. Gen. Manager Taylor of the Monon Route, says there will be SBOO a month additional expense on the first dlvisloi for operators* salaries. It is not improbable that the smaller stations will be cut out and the pay of the remaining operators reducedjmd that possibly the salaries of the engineers, and firemen. At this station there will be no additional help. Agent Beam and operators Davenport' and Jessen will each work nine hours per day.
