Did Not Want the Interurban.
Residents of Round Grove township, in White county, voted down the prop ositlon to subsidize the Lafayette &, Chicago electric interurban or Infield road by almost two to one last week. When a petition was filed asking for an election in that township, it is said that practically every resident joined in the petition, but a change of heart came over them and the reason is said to have been that the people had decided they t would sooner have a ?*»*m road than an electric road, and that they were made to believe that they would get the steam road within a few years. The subsidy proposition for this road has now been voted upon at four places and was defeated In Carpenter township, this county; Gilboa town•Bnmr.T Grove township, White countv\ it was affirmatively voted in Renkselelaer and Marion township, wheto the need of the road was so readily apparent. It is not known what effect the successive defeats will have on the building of the road, but it is not improbable that the road is now a goner.
