Fairbank's Virus Good For the Government.
Yes,-Brother Babcock, we took %d iujeetiou of Fairbanks vims, and we prepared to whoop ’em up for the promotion of the Vice President. While personally we prefer Taft, we are not in favor of laying down on the candidacy of any qualified Hoosier against any person on earth. Mr. Fairbanks has 'been in pa olio life a long time, has a clean record, and save for the often as sorted but never proven charge that Ike stands with the corporations against every other interest, his xeputation is spotless. 'He is cou■astent, safe and sane, and wnile possibly not as progressive as Taft he has the quality of perfect security and every American industry would prosper with him at the head of the government. He has never been gnilty of advocating any wild or foolish theories, has never songbt to create strife between those who succeed and those who envy them, has stood shoulder to shoulder with the President in his labor to en force the law. and has the respect and the confidence of the people who would hesitate a long time before they parsed the business ot the Batiou into the hauds of a man of wild and unsafe theories-* political rainbow chaser.' Yes, the Fairbanks virus has taaeu—took so readily in fact that we rather believe the American people are just waiting for the treatment. There k is no doubt and Bo uncertainty about Fairbanks. His name and his statesmanship stn A as an antonym for Bryan. | The harmonious way in which Indiana has proclaimed the Fair* barks .campaign is a terrific blow to Indiana democrats, where the rough house political game is being carried on in true gnerilla style.
