The award of $lO to the person bringing in the largest number of new subscribers to the Semi Weekly Republican will be made at the close of business Dec. 31st. All new subscriptions secured by or voluntarily given in behalf of any candidate since the contest [started on Dec 2d, will be counted. Each new subscriber counts 150 votes, also, in the contest. This would be very good pay for a holiday week of hustling. Your friends will be glad to help you if you ask them and the paper will make an admirable present for anyone to give. • This competition is not only open to (those who are in the list of published candidates, but likewise to any lady who cares to enter. There are fields where soliciting should be easy’and fruitful. The Republican editor last year put on ten subscribers in one day, and any Igood looking spirited girl ought to beat us “all holler.” Get the names and the money and report here by Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31st. No one will be told how the other candidates stand.
