Entertained Their Husbands.
i The members ot the John A. Logan W. R. C. No. 191, after their business yesterday afternoon went tothe home of Mrs. I. S. Wade, where they held a winter picnic, with their hnsbands as gaes»s. An elegant supper was served to thirty and was followed- by a very pleasant evening. A musical and literary program was carried ont and embraced some very enjoyable numbers. Esther Brown and Helen Cameron gave recitations, L«o Dill man a piano solo, Mrs.
Arthur Dillman vocal numbers and Mrs. Harley and Miss Reprogle a piano and violin duet. Among the gn*'Bts were Mrs. Emily Hagins, Mr#. Isabel Pnmphrey, and Mrs Elizabeth Powers, of Rensselaer. It was one of the raostdelightfnl soda gatherings in which tie corps has participated and Mrs. Wade proved to be a very gracious hostess.— Lafayette Morning Journal. While in the city Mrs. Pnmphrey visited Mrs. Emma C. A. Cox, daughter of Mrs. D. T. Halstead qf Rensselaer, two days at the Soldiers’ Home and was nicely entertained by her and other ladies there. Mrs. Cox is assistant matron at the home and had Mrs. Pnmph re) accompany her on her ronnda ot duty. The Home is run in a way that is an honor to the state, and under the management ot Col. Smock, is ran in a very efficient manner.
