Post-Office Department Regulates Contest.

Some friendly person wrote the Postmaster General at Washington about our popularyvoting contest and has the satisfaction of having it given the approval of the postoffice department. Two or three things have been required, viz. that <he exact date of closing the contest be stated, that the order of the subordinate prizes be stated and that the advertising state that in the case of a tie vote the value of the article tied for will be divided and distributed equally among the tied vote contestants. The conditions have now been embodied in all of the advertising and the luminary who undertook to put a yeast cake under us can now settle down to .his own affairs, if he has any. So often these public regulators have been unable to build up a business of their own, for their time is so fully ap plied to other people’s.
