“THE CLANSMAN” IN CHICAGO.

“The Clansman”, most sensational of American plays, will return to McWcker’s Theatre, Chicago, for a farewell engagement of two weeks, beginning Sunday, Dec. Bth. This is the drama that was suppressed as a potitical move by the city authorities of Philadel phia and around which a storm of controversy and discussion has raged wherever presented. It is the true story of the Reconstruction era in the South and of the part played by the Ku Kluk Klan in rescuing that unhappy portion of the country from the horrors of carpet bagger rule. Iu the cast this year are the best members of the two companies that toured the country last season, headed by handsome Franklin Ritehie as captain earner on and attractive Eugenie Hayden as Elsie Stoneraan. The cave denof the En Kink Klan and the gallop ing cavalry horses used by the Klan are the most thrilling features of the show. As to the scenic pro duction, it is the largest ever carried by tfiis play, which goes direct from Chicago on a three years’ trip aronna the world, visiting England, Booth Africa, Australia and Pacific Isles. The regular McVioker prices of 25 cents to 11.00 prevail throughout this engagement, and mail orders for seats accompanied by remittance will be promply filled if forwarded to Messrs Litt and Dingwall, MeViCher’s Theatre, Ohicrgo.
