Miss Gladys Cobb of Cresent City IIK, visited Miss Stella Lock last week. Wrn. Chappell and John Bowmat left Tuesday for Oklahoma to look for work. Mrs. Violet Fuller of and two sqns came Saturday to visit relatives here. Wm. Smalley returned to Purdue and Miss Ada Peck to Frauklin College Monday. Misses Tammie Roush and Carrie Detrick and George Detrick spent Saturday in Fowler. Miss Ora Cheek went to Colum bus, Ohio, Wednesday to spend the winter with relatives. Mr. and Mrs Henry Walker re tamed home Wednesday ot last week from their visit in the east. , Miss Elsie Bickel returned to her school at Cisna Park, 111., Monday after a tew weeks vacation at home. Mrs. Stone and daughter Lizzie went to Marien Saturday for a visit with their daughter, Mrs. Otis Heath. Lowell Townsend returned to school Monday to Northwestern University after spending a few days at home. Meedames Dixon and Dewey of Watseka and Merrel of Terre Haute, visited their sister Mrs. J. N. Beal last week. Miss Sylvia Jacobs and brothers Will and Allen of Arrowsmith, 111. attended the funeral of their unde, Chas. Shanll, returning home Monday. * • Mrs. Wm. Nichols who will make his home with her. Mfc. and Mrs. Titus Baker of Harrisburg, Pa., returned home Thursday, having been called here by the death of their brother-in-law, Charles Shaull. Mrs. Elnor Ford was called to Elwood last week on the account of the sickness of her son Lewis, who has been sick with typhoid fever, but who is better at this writing. Mrs. D. S. Gigley died Wednesday morning in a hospital in Chicago. The remains were taken to Peoria for burial and the funeral services were held there on Friday afternoon. Anna Bartoo, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartoo northeast of town, died Friday of consumption, at the age of 19 years. The fnneral was held at Gilboa Sunday, interment made in Gilboa cemetery. Mrs. Jacob Finglemyer died at her home in Jordan township Sunday morning at the age of 76 years. Fuperal services were held at the Sacred Heart church on Wednesday and the remains were taken to Rensselaer tor burial.
