IS CONSIDERING THE COMPROMISE

Referee Bowers Heard Petitioners aid Objectors to Thompson Compromise and Withheld Opiaion Toe meeting of McCoy creditors »t Hammond last Saturday was at tended by several lawyers and a few othcra. Judge Hammond, of Lafayette, represented the Lafayette creditors, and indirectly the other petitioners' for the SIO,OOO compromise. tt A. H. Hopkins, of the firm of Austin & Hopkins, and R. Nichols, represented the counter petitioners. A. Leopold, Moses Tnteur, George Vv ilcox and Frank Schrorer also attended the meeting. It is said that creditors representing about $60,000 in claims against the estate had signed the compromise petition and that the objectors to the compromise represented about $l3O in claims. The attorneys were authorized by power of attorney to vote on the proposition to settle for SIO,OOO the daim against Delos Thompson as one of * the partners in the old Btock farm company who had overdrawn their account at, the bank. In about the proportion stated the vote was cast and Referee Bowers instructed the attorneys to submit to him any further statement they desired in the matter on or before Dec. 21st, and on Dec. 26th he will ■ robably render his decision in the proposed compromise. All the compromises entered into by Trustee Chapman and which were published last week, were approved by the Referee.
