Newton County’s New Superintendent.

The resignation of superintendent Kellenbarger in Newton county, cleared the way for the election of enr former young townsman Prof. W. O. Schanlaub of Morocco, and be was chosen to that position at a meeting of trustees held in Kentland last Saturday. William O. Schanlaub is the son of JohnSchanlaub and wife of Rensselaer, and received his early education in the Rensselaer schools. He is entirely a self-made young man and has made his way in edneational pursuits by his own efforts. For several years he has been Superintendent of the Morocco schools, and his work there has been so entirely satisfactory that the school hoard is at a great loss to known where to turn to supply the vacancy caused by his resignation.

As stated seveial months ago in this paper, since a democrat© had to be elected there we were pleased to know that it would fall on snch responsible shoulders as those of energetic, self-made and high-class Will Bchanlaub.
