“THE CLANSMAN” IN CHICAGO.

“The Clansman”, most sensational of American plays, will retnrn to McV*cker’s Theatre, Chicago, for a farewell engagement of two weeks, begipning Sunday, Dec. Bth. This is the drama that was suppressed as a potitical move by the city authorities of Philadelphia and around which a storm of controversy and discussion has raged wherever presented. It is the true story of the Reconstruction era in the South and of the part played by the Eu Kluk Elan in rescuing that unnappy portion of the country from the horrors of carpet bagger rule. In the cast this year are the beet members of the two companies that toured the country last season, headed by handsome Franklin Ritehie as captain earneron and attractive Eugenie Hayden as Elsie Stoneman. The cave denof the Ku Kluk Elan and the galloping cavalry horses used by the Elan are the most thrilling features of the show. As to the scenic production, it is the largest ever carried by this play, which goes direct from Chicago dh a three years’ trip around the world, visiting England, South Africa, Australia and Pacific Isles. The regular McVicker prices of 25 cents to • 1.00 prevail throughout this engagement, and mail orders tor seats so- - companied by remittance will be promply filled if - forwarded to Lltt and Dingwall, McVicker’s Theatre, Chicrgo.
