PIANO CONTEST LIVENING UP

FintLiitof Nines Will Be PukHiked In Thursday Daily and Friday Semi-Weekly. The Popular Ladies’ Voting Contest inaugurated by the Republican is on in earnest and the Thursday Daily Republican and the Friday Semi-Weekly Republican will contain the first list of names of the ladies who have been nominated and the number of votes each has received. One of the township ballot boxes has been installed in the Republican office and Trustee Stackhouse hok's the key. All votes will be placed therein and they will be counted when the contest ends, which will be about March Ist.

In the Weekly Republican appears a voting coupon which entitles the person cutting it out to vote ten free votes for any lady, whether she has been nominated or not. This coupon will also appear in the Daily Republican at least one day each week. Subscribers should cut these ont and vote them for some friend. They must be voted within ten days after the date of the p iper in which they appear. The merchants who have given other prizes are all provided with coupons which purchasers at any of these stores can have when the purchase amounts to a dollar or more, one 25-vote coupon for each dollar purchased. The basis of votes by new and renewed subscriptions to the Republican is published in this paper and will appear whenever the free coupon is in the paper, and the advertisement of each of the merchants giving voting coupons will appear at the same time.

The candidate who has secured the greatest number of new subscriptions and thereby the greatest number of votes, by Saturday night Dec. 21st, will receive $lO in gold, and all votes count just the same for the piano and other prize awards. Families wuhout a piano can nomiaate some member of the family and churches and lodges may nominate some lady and center support on them. Candidates should maxe everything count. Don’t fail to use the free voting coupon. Don’t fail to call for coupons when you trade at one of the stores that put up prizes. Don’t fail to use the subscription blanic when you renew your subscription. Don’t fail to look over the list of names when it is published, and pick out your candidate.
