Some State Board of Health Suggestions.
The State Board of Health has. recently sent a circular to every health officer in the state, which shows very plainly they |tre expected to execute the law, and, also show signs wherein the people at large and other persons can help to make the work much easier to those whose duty it is to carry out the provision of the law. The circular rea'" 8 as follows: — Let every officer study the work he has accepted, and do his full duty to prove his worth. Then it will not be difficult to secure from the Legislature a proper tenure of office and right pay. Every officer mustt>ediligentin collecting certificates of deaths, births and contagious diseases, and promptly recording them. Your record books must be kept care fully, and certificates sent promptly to the State Board. The physician who refuses or neglects to report the deaths, births and contagious diseases he attends, is a law breaker and he also does not faithfully serve his patrons. Such a man is not a good citizen. Health officers who do not enforce thelaw they have promised to enforce, will be counted weak, strong men who enforce the law. Let every health officer take pride in his work and do all he can to advance his State to the first place in sanitation. in the whole land. A new book of Instructions will soon be ready, and all officers will be supplied with one.
