County Clerk Must Pay.

A judgment requiring George F. Eder, ex- County Clerk of Lake county, to pay back S3OO allowed to him on account of fees sos naturalizing foreigners which were never collected, py reason of the clerk accepting the guaranty of the county chairman for the payment of such fees and the chairman’s repudiation of his] guaranty, was affirmed by the Appellate Court yesterday. Certain of the taxpayers brought the Buit to compel repayment. The case was brought to Porter county from Lake county and a jury decided against the defendant He took an appeal and will now have to settle.
