The First Union Meeting.
The first meeting conducted by EVangelist Loose was a conference for men held Sunday afternoon in the Presbyterian church. About fifty mCn were presen aa hour was spent in discussion of the general religions condition of Rensselaer, and what the men of the church can do to render- this con dition better. A good meeting is reported. The first public meeting addressed by Evangelist Loose was held .last night in the Castle Hall room, and before the service began everyone of 800 chairs was taken. The song|service was in charge of Prof. M. J. Hill and a chorus from the choir of all the churches. The music was a good reward to those who attended the service, and it was followed by a stirring address by Mr. Loose on Practical Antheism. If the attendance and interest shown, and the fine ad dress ot last night may be taken as indicative of of future, this series of meetings will result in great good to Rensselaer. The subject for tonight will be “Decaying Christianity.”
