Evidently the DuPont Powder company has fixed on S6OO and ยง7OO for the lives' of its workmen killed by the explosion at Fontauet. Five settlementes out of court have been made. Three suits for damages were filed by Ira Parrott, a lawyer who acts -as administrator, and judgments were contessed. For Elmer Bright, the last to die from injuries, S6OO was paid. He faad a wife and oue child. For Samuel Nevius, who had a wife and two children, S7OO was paid. For Edward Nevins, who had a wife and one child, S6OO was the amount.
