DOBBINS AND COEN AND KIRK
This wonderful trio of football players will be on hand to assist Captain Hopkins and Porter and Morgan and Elder and Woodworth and Grant and Chestnut and Han ter and Murray and Brenner and O’Conner iu the Thanksgiving football game. The linenp has not been determined npon, bat it is certain the Mighty Dobbins, star of the Wabash college little giants, will play his old half back position and Bice Porter, whose work at half has been the chief factor in every game will play the other half. Morgan will probably be kept on end because of his speed, and Elder who has been playing full back very satisfactorially may be shifted back to the line because a strong line is above all things necessary. Oar adversaries on that day will be the best trained aggregation probably that ever visited Bensselaer. They are the Notre Dame freshman and have had the advantage of the ‘varsity training, which means that they are acquainted with all the tricks of the state champions, and Notre Dame smothered Pnrdne Saturday, largely by new plays.
This should be a week of bard practice for our boys and long hours of coaching will be necessary to put tie team in first claw condition, bpt the necessity of a football problem has generally caused Rensselaer to rise equal to the emergency and it is probable Captain Hopkins will have his warriors'ont at every possible minnte. A trick play or two in lieu of the forward pass might be successfully worked. Let’s beat Notre Dame. ,Let’s practice hard and have no excuses. Let every person turn out and see the Thanksgiv nggame. Football is a part of that day now and Manager Kiplinger has arranged a game that should draw crowds from all adjoining towns. It will be called promply at 2:30.
