1673 Sir Edmund Andros assumed the x government of New York. 1674 New York City evacuated by the Batch; 1075—Carteret resumed the government from which he bad been expelled in East Jersey. 1685—La Salle and Wfa followers left the Lavaca river on the Gulf coast in search of the Mississippi. 1687 —Gov.
