Samuel Scott Is Dead.
Samuel Scott, for many years a resident of Jasper county and of Rensselaer, and once qnite wealthy died last Saturday night at his home in Lakin, Kans. He was about 80 years of age. A telegram received here by th 6 Masonic lodge from his daughter, Mrs. Mary Spears, said that his wish was to be buried iu Rensselaar, but it is not known whether the body will be shipped here or not When Mr. Soottt visited here some years ago he was without money and it is understood money was procured for him to return to Kansas on, and while the- local Masonio lodge, where he held membership wonld bear the expense of bnrying him there, it is not probable they would bring the remains here for bnrial. Nattie and George Scott, of Rensselaer, are nephews of the deceased.
