Brewers To Start No Saloons.
The Indiana Brewers Association in session at Indianapolis Thnrs day decided not to start any more saloons and to discontinue the purchasing of saloon fixtures for saloon keepers. It was determined that henceforth the breweis shall not advance funds for support of the saloons handling their beer and also that the association would assist the authorities in enforcing the Nichol son law. Sometime ago the Indianapolis Brewers’ Association, led by A 1 bert Lieber, Crawford Fairbanks and Joseph Schaf, decided not to start any more saloons in Indianap olis for two years. They expected to ease the anti saloon agitation by limiting the number of saloons and attempting to drive out dive keepers.
These matters received consideration Thursday afternoon at a meet ing of the state association at the Denison hoteL About forty members, representing practically every brewery in Indiana, gatheredabou an elaborate banqueting board ant discussed the situation in a heart to heart manner. This, of coarse, is done in an effort to ward off further temperance aggression in the state. ‘ v
