Battle of the Roses.

The Mrs. Marshall Field rose, valued at s>o,ooo, has won first prize in the rose exhibit at the flower tdiow in progress in Chicago, under the auspices of the Chicago Horticultural society. Its closest rival for the honor was the Mrs. Potter Palmer rose. Both are products of Chicago growes. Others which received honorable" mention were the Alice Roosevelt entered by a Denver florist, and the Rhea Reid blossom, from Richmond, Ind.
