Our vicinity is pretty well soaked ap with the large amount of rain which fell last Friday and Saturday. William Parker, who is station agent of Forestnan, Ind., is visiting his relatives at this place this week. Pearl Holle who bad her leg broken several months ago, is now able to lie about. The Catholics of this place are painting the St. Nichols church. Ord Hanley and wife spent several days of last week visiting ffiends in Rensselaer. The 0. & H. I. has again changed agents at this place, by placing Mr. Dunbar, at Hopkins and Mr. Smith of Lafayette at this place, such numerous changes are bad both for the public and agents. Holle Bros, have taken their threshing machine to San Pierre, where they are stilling threshing. The dance okthe hall Saturday night was very well attended considering the bad weather. Claud Sayler and Gaylord Brown left Monday for Fowler where they expect to make a corn husking record.
