Tuesday’s Elections.
Elections were [held in thirteen states Tuesday, six states electing governors and many cities electing mayors. In Kentucky Augustus E. Wilson, republican, was elected governor, which, it is thought, may clear the way to a fairer hearing of the Caleb Powers murder complicity case and may eventually lead to the returning to Kentucky of W. S. Taylor, former governor,- aud Charles Finley, former secretary of state, who have lived in Indiana since the murder of William Goebel, and who have been protected from arrest by this state refusing to honor requisition papers irorn Kentucky. Massachusetts elected a republican governor, and New Jersey, Maryland and Missippi elected democratic governors. Cincinnati elected a republican mayor and Cleveland re-elected Tom Johnson, democrat. Local and state issues eliminated national policies from the campaign.
