Catholics Ate Meat on Friday.
Friday, Nov. Ist, being All Saints Day, Pope Pi ns X, ordered a special dispensation permitting Catholics the world over to eat meat on that day. This was the first time many Catholics had ever partaken of meat on Fridays with the exception of those days when Christmas falls on Friday when the eating of meat is permitted. lii Rensselaer All Saints Day was observed by Catholics by the holding of mass at 8 o’clock and at 10 o’cloch, and it was held again Saturday morning at 9 o’clock. It will be the first-county fair Jasper county, has had in years and is apt to be the best ever had. It will last but one evening and will comprise all the old inducements of the pumpkin fair of years agone. The societies, of the . _ Christian church are diligently working on Its production and it will take place at the opera house Thursday evening, Nov. 7th.
The entertainment ,the Jasper <’*><» nty Fair will be drilled by E. Mae Ware, a graduate of King’s School of Oratory, of the Bock Entertainment Co., and of the Department of Expression of the Uni versity Bcliool of Music, of Ann Arbor, Mich., which company makes a specialty of this entertainment. The entertainment has been an immense success in all towns where it has been presented and will likely be a fine entertainment. Warner Bros, want you to come in and register.
