Landon the past two weeks. Edwin Lucas and wife of Fowler were called here last week by the illness of her mother Mrs. A. J. Brooks. Mollie Shearer visited her brother Elsworth Shearer and family at Lafayette from Thursday until Sunday. Remington Poultry Show will be held in the two Osborne rooms on north Railroad street, Dec. 30th to Jan. 4th. Twonnette Parker left last week for St. Louis Where she will visit herl sister Mrs. Templeton and brother Lowell. John Ulm and son John took a trip thru W estern Tennessee last week prospecting for farm land but returned without purchasing. Mrs. Cox, who for the past two months ha* l been visiting her sister Mrs. Ada Dobbins and brother Harvey Hartman and other relatives in Ohio returned to her home ’in Kansas City, Mo., Wednesday of last week.

Mrs. G. E. Marshall and two children ofi-RenssClaer have been visiting her mother Mrs. Barton the past two weeks before leaving fortheir new home at Medford, Oregon. Miss Martha Wahl and Mr. Cecil McCain of Indianapolis were married at the home of the bride’s parents Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Wahl on Wednesday evening of last week, Rev. E. Miller of the Christian church officiating. Two Remington boys, yet under ten years of age, secured entrance into Worden’s harness shop on Sunday afternoon by climbing thru the window, then thru a trap door and took fifteen dollars which M-. Worden had left in the cash box, and proceeded to have a feast on gum and candy. As soon as their parents heard of the affair the remaining money was taken from the boys and affairs were made right with Mr. Worden. Monday night of last week Mr. Nick Wagners horse aad buggy was taken from the rack where he had tied it before going to church by two lads Homer Heath and another boy who seemed to be a common tramp. The boys went from here to Chalmers where they tried to sell the rig. The Chalmers marshal sent word here that he had arrested two lads on suspicion who were trying t» sell the horse and buggy. Mr. Wagner went over Tuesday and got the rig but the boys being unable to give bail, they were taken to Monticello and locked up in the county jail.
