Think They Have Hank Granger.

It seems that the most of the effort of the Newton county grand jury that had several Rensselaer people testifying before it, was di-. rected to an effort to secure evidence of illegal sales againsi Hank Granger, the Thayer saloon keeper and Ben Fogli, the Water Valley saloonist. After the first bunch had given their testimony another hurry-up call was sent to Rensselaer for another cluster of supposed-to-be Bun day customers of the above-named men, but a member ofthe grand jury took sick and there was (nothing done after the second bunch arrived. It is said that several others have done a good deal of skirmishing to dodge the sheriff and his deputies, even many who were not wanted at all. Prosecuting Attorney Graves is quoted as saying that they have plenty of evidence against Granger to convict him; but it will be remembered that the slippery Hank has squeezed out of many tight places.
