Difficult Operation Successfully Performed.
An operation was performed on Frank Burns, a young married man living in the Ramey property in the northeast part of town, Sunday morning at 6:30 o’clock. It was to relieve a strangulated hernia and the local physician was assisted by Dr. M. W. Bacon, an eminent surgeon of Englewood, and an interne from a city hospital named Dr. Staines. The operation is considered a very dangerous one, and the local physician aftec his diagnosis of the case lost n > time in preparing for the operation, which was performed twelve hours after the diagnosis. Mr. Burns has suffered from the hernia for Sometime but the strangulated condition had just oc curred. He is now getting along nicely and will probably rapidly recover his former health.
