Concerning The New Game Law.

The procedure iu securing shun tar’s lioeuae is to go to the owinty clerk’s office in this city.' and deposit $1 with that official and a license will be forthcoming in a lew minutes. Or il you live a considerable distance from town you can write to the county clerk lor a blank application and when yon have properly tilled it out.return it to the county clerk with $1 enclosed and you will receive a license by return mail. This license, how ever, does not permit''the holder thereof to hunt on Sunday and is good far one year from date. Neither does any other licenses permit one to hunt on Sunday Squirrels. The closed season for killing squirrels begins November Ist of the following year. Squirrels may be killed between July Ist and November Ist. but hot between November Ist and the Ist of July. The law is so strict that if you merely jhave a squirrel in your possession between November Ist and July Ist you are in violation of the -Jaw —:

Qnail, Grouse Prairie Chicken. The closed season , for- killing quail, ruffled grouse* prairie chicken or pinnated grouse is from January Ist. of any year to the tenth day of November cf the seme year. Violators shall be fined $lO for each quail, ruffled grouse, prairie chicken, or pinnated-grouse, hunted, shot, killed, pursued or pos sessed during that period. The limited number of quail iu any oue day is 15 and if a hunter spends three days in succession he may have a total of 45 quail, killed by himself daring such hunt. Wild Goose, Duck, Brant, Etc. The closed season from April Ist of any year, to the first day of S-*p tember of the same year. This includes in addition to the wild goose, will duck, brant and all oth®r kinds of waterfowl. The section also makes it unlawful to shoot, kill, or pursue for the pur pose of shooting or killing any wild goose, wild duck, brant or other waterfowl between sunset of any day and the sunrise of the succeeding day and also makes it unlawful to hunt, shoot, or kill by means of a Daptha, electric or steam launch or boat, or any other kind of a boat except a row boat or a push boat. Anyone found with more than 15 wild geese, ducks, brant or other waterfowls, between September Ist and April Ist, the open period, shall be deemed guilty of a mis> demeanor and fined $lO for each such goose, duck, brant or waterfowl. A person may hunt three days in succesioa out must not have more rhaii 45. Who Hunts Wilbout Licence. - AtO.v bona fide resident of the state may hunt rabbits in his own resident township without procur iug a license and any resident owner or owners of larm lands, their children living with them, or their tenants may buut upon the lands of which he or they are fide owner, owners or tenaura, duriug such period j of the year it shall be lawful to hunt the various species of game, without procuring such hunting license.
