Pleasan Ridge Baseball Champions.

Local baseball has lingered well into the lap of fall and yet there wnsno frost-bitten enthusiasm in the Pleasant, Ridge vs. Parr contest that was pulled off here last Satur day. The partisans of each team were ou hand with their weasel skins and were ready to back their favorites with the proceeds of the early harvest and it is said that right around 1150 changed hands on the game. From a spectacular point of view better games have been played, even by last spring’s Maroons, bnt the rivalry that has been brewing all summer between these two clubs called forth all the effort that each player could muster in this culminating effort and the balls weie laced all over the lot and the ball was thrown wild so many times that the score was finally run up to 12 to 19 in favor of the Ridge. The gate receipts amounted to a little more than S2O, which went to the winners of the game. Pleasant Ridge has demonstrated its just •laim to the title of championship in the Marion-Union township controversy.
