THURSDAY'S LOCALS.
Geo. Reed and family will go to Urbana, 111., today, to visit relatives^— Willis Lutz and sister, Mrs. Arnott, went to Chicago today for a short visit. Vern Schock went to Laporte today to look for employment. His sister Dollie has been working there for some time. Scott Johnson and wife, of Morris, 111., returned home today sfter a short visit here with the family of N. J. York. Mrs. R. Young and Miss Blanch Hoyes went to Chicago today, and Mrs. Young will go on to Gardner, Kans., to visit relatives. Mrs. Fern Carter returned to her home in Kosciusco county today, aftera visit of two weeks with.her father Walter Ponsler and family near Mr. Ayr, and her aunt Mrs. Lucius Strong, in Rensselaer. Mrs. Frank Minnecus of Chicago Heights, has been at the bedside of her mother, Mrs. Amelia Sible, west of town, for the past week. Mrs. Sibl« ip in a very serious condition, suffering from rheumatism. Anson Cox went to Chicago on business today and incidentally will take in a Cub-Tiger ball game. Ansun is a fau of the pro-Cub variety. The Cubs won their second game with Detroit by the score of 3 to 1. Rev. Isaac E. Springer, D. D , of the Detroit, Mich., conference of the M. E. church, and Rev. Henry M. Springer, a superanuated member of the Dakota M. E. conference, are here visiting their sis ter, Mrs. Davidson, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. A Wil liams. The remains of Mrs. Clyde Corliss were disinterred yesterday aud shipped today to Kankakee, 111., the former home of Mr Corliss and his mother and where they expect to later permanently locate. Mrs. Corliss died iu Rensselaer on Feb. 24th of consumption and burial was made iu Weston cemetery. The hustling Squire Bussell is making rapid progress in moving the old Marshall house from the ; lot between the former Geo. E. Marshall and the B. Forsythe residence, to the lot ad joining the Presbyterian church, aud will probably have it set down iu its new location by tonight. B. S. Fendig, the owner of the building. will put it in good shape, he says, aud rent it. John Morgan started ofr Freeland Park this morning to fill an enSgement at the carnival there. e was loaded down with two drums and three suit cases aud in addition to playing in the band and performing with a carnival company he is book to play second base in a base ball game, half hack in a foot ball game and to run a few foot races. John is a whole show all by himself. The longest table at which 110 persons partook of a bounteous repast apd all at the first table, last Sunday. The immediate cause of all this great spead nnder the fruit trees of the yard and garden was to commemorate the 54th birth mark of Billy Wilcox. Billy was also made the happy recipient of an elegant arm chair with rockers in which to rock out the remainder of his years, while he smokes his pipe of peace. A Guest.
