First Game Was a Tie.

The first of the world’s champion base ball series occurred iu Chica go Tuesday, and resulted iu a tie game between the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers, the contest lasting twelve innings. Baseball fans from all over the country are attending, and altho the spirit of baseball did not permeate the Rensselaer atmosphere to a very great degree daring the year, there is considerable interest being manifested here now and Anson Cox, one of the leading fans, has arranged to post the score each evening at the J. H. Cox news stand. It is quite probable, also, that several Rensselaer people will see games later in tie week:
