State Charities Meeting.
The state conference of charities and correction will be held at Evanscon October 19-23, under presidency of Rev. Prances H. Gavisk, of St John’s church, Indi anapolis. Hon. Fremont Goodwine, of Williamsport; will act as chairman of the committee on Charities, and Senator L. Ert Slack, of Franklin, will preside over the of county and township charities. T. F. Rose, of Muncie, will ptgiftide over the city charities’ conference. Dr. W. A. Evans, commissioner of the Chicago health department, will make the principal address on the subject “tuberculosis,” which is to be considered at a meeting presided over by Hon. James E. Watson, of Rushville. Miss Sarah L. Montgomery, superintendent of the new Indiana Girl’s school, will read a paper on “Probation,” Hon. J. F. McClure, of Anderson, acting as chairman of the session. f : The usual round tables will be - held Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
