Monument to an Indian.

A monument Is to be erected in Indian Territory to Sequoyah, inventor of the Cherokee alphabet and one of the greatest Indians. He was born in Georgia In 1767, his father being a German trader and his mother a fullblooded Cherokee. In 1837 he entered Indian Territory for the first time, remaining six years, and In 1843 died lu New Mexiqo. Between 1822 and 1824 he Invented the Cherokee alphabet.
