There were 7.998,879.785 cigars of all kinds smoked in the United States last year. They cost all prices, from the Pittsburg stogie at three for a nickel to the two for a quarter that Senators use. hut the average that is smoked Is
the Teeent cigar. At 5 cents each the cost would be $300,944,887.25, which Is $15.45 for ever?- man, or $4.02 for every man, woman and child in the United States. If the money was divided among the States, each would get $5,887,664, and it would give 11,900 men in each State sls per week for one year. The money would educate 1,599.779 students at Vale college each year. It would build 50 first-class battleships. If it were all In nickels it would weigh 10,414 tons. If It were in $1 bills the President vx>uld walk on a path of dollars five feet wide to the Panama canal.
