Special Stamps Not Needed For Special Delivery.
Special delivery letters do not have to bear special delivery stamps and the ordinary postage stamps will carry them to any portion of the country providing the proper amount is furnished. An order was received at the postoffice a few days ago announc ing the terms of a new law which provides for the carrying of special delivery letters. The law provides that ordinary postage stamps may be used if ten cents in stamps is placed on the letter in addition to the regular two cent stamp which must accompany all letters, whether special delivery or not. The sender of a letter of this kind must write or print the words “Special Delivery” on one corner of the envelope and below where the stamps are placed. But few people in Rensselaer have learned o r the new law and there is still a great demand for the the special delivery stamp.s
