SOME McCOY ESTATE CLAIMS SETTLED.
Last Saturday was the first day set by the order on and after which Trustee Chapman could receive private offers on any of theivarious debts due these state which he is offering for sale. The most notable sale or settlement of any of these advertised debts so far made, is that of the contracting firm of Rush & Warren, who became heavily involved in financial difficulties thru losses in erecting the Knights of Pythias buildin*. Their notes amounting with interests to a little over $3,000 have been compromised by their paying SI,OOO in cash and taming over enough mortgage notes above this to amount to $l6O more. In direct contrast with this effort of Rush & Warren to pay as much as they could in settlement is an offer said to have been received for the Hartley Bros, notes, amounting o about $1,500. On these the magnificent offer of $25 has been made, according to report, or a ittleless than two cents on the dollar. This offer will not be accepted. Quite a number of small claims have been paid or compromised. Next Saturday, Sept. 28th, at one o’clock P. M. the balance of the unsettled claims will be sold at public auction.
