Conger Out of Race.

Sid Conger, president of the state fair, and a prominent Shelby county politician, has announced that he will not enter the republican gubernatorial race. His announcement was brief and to the point. “I will not be a candidate next year,’* he said. For more than six months Mr. Conger has figured in the governorship speculation. ’He is a representative farmer who has lon/been prominent in farmers’ organization, and those who believe the time has come to select a candidate from the rural district had begun to take notice of his budding aspirations. Daring the last two weeks, while governors were being made and unmade around the political headquarters in Indianapolis, Mr. Conger was often importuned for a statement as to his position, but he steadily declined to be interviewed.
