Use of Seismograph in War.

According to dispatches from Vienna some important experiments were made during the recent Ostend gunnery trials by Prof. Bclar, director of the Laibach earthquake observatory, who used the seismographic apparatus to see if it was possible to calculate scientifically by the vibrations of the earth the location and direction of distant artillery fire. The experiments- -were satisfactory, and they will be continued during the coming autumn artillery maneuvers tn the Kara aranken hills.
