When Knox, county seat of Starke county, thru its anti-saloon people, filed a remonstrance with the County Commissoners the saloon keepers could not find an attorney willing to appear for them, although they offered one firm a SSOO fee for so doing. Meanwhile, every Jaw firm volunteered its services to the remonstrants free of cost. After the remonstrance was ’ -T»- . ■ ■ ' • • - - • - • - » „ ... filed the saloon men succeeded in inducing sixty seven signers to withdraw their names, but thirty of Gie business men volunteered their services, and forty-one of the sixty-seven withdrawals renewed their signatures, while several new names were obtained, giving the remonstrants twenty-tnree majority Knox has now joined the procession of “dry” towns.
