Pearl Blake returned to Wabash Friday after a months’ visit with relatives here. Walter Rich and family returned to Kankakee Thursday after a two months stay here. Tim Harrington and wife returned home Thursday from their travel in the East. Mrs. A. J. Brooks went to Fowler Wednesday to visit her daughter Mrs. Edward Lucas. George Gray of Chicago spent Thursday night With his father, M. D. Gray and family." Wm. nich and wife went to Frankfort Friday for a ten days’ visit with her sisters. Mrs. Wm. Beat went to Leiters ford Tuesday of last week to visit her mother Mrs. Rev. Markin. Misses Mollie Shearer and Mary Seifert of Wt>lco‘t spent Thursday night with friends at Rensselaer^ Vernon Balcom, James Peck and Willie Turner attended the fair at LaFayette Thursday of last week. Miss Maude Merritt went to East Chicago Monday of last week to visit her sister Mrs. Walter Forbes. Mr. Harold Higley and Miss Bessie Puckett were married at the brides home in Lafayette, August 31st. Mrs. Wm. Gier and daughter Alberta visited her sister Mrs. Homer Hardy at Huntington last week. Harold Bowman returned to Peoria, Illinois Monday to continue his course in watchmaking aud jewelry. Mrs. Teua Myers and daughter Gladys Ford of Boswell came Thursday to visit her mother Mrs, Johnson. Mrs. Joe Turner son Ross and daughter Mrs. Chas. Bowman visited relatives and friends at El wood last week.
Edith Hearing of New Harmony, Ind., came Thursday of last week to take np her work of Assistant Principal of the public school. Mrs. Anna Yondersmith went to Kentland last week where she will make her home in the future with her sister Mrs. Julia Hubbard. Miss Lauretta O’Connor returned home Monday ot last week from Keutland where she visited her uncle Marion CoLver a few days. Rev. and Mrs. Miller, Mesdames Peck, Bowman, Ealyand Cummons attended the convention ot the Christian church at Rensselaer last Thursday. Rev. Crowder spent last week at Greencastle attending the M. E. conference held at that place.\Mrs. Crowder and daughter Avis visited at Newport, Ind., during his absence. The barn of Mell Julian, near Odessa was struck by lightning Saturday afternoon and burned to the ground. No 6tock was in the barn at tbe time, but oats about 15 ton of hay and all the harness were burned. Mr. Julian carried S4OO insuranca on the barn.
