| The death of Dr. Seneca D. Powell, n member of the faculty of the Post Graduate Medical School of New York City, is believed to have been directly due tb his experiments in the cause of medical science. In his efforts to demonstrate that alcohol was an antidote to carbolic acid ' the doctor frequently swallowed what would hare been n fatal dose of the poiI son and then took alcohol. Many of these experiments were made in the presence of classes at the School where he was an instructor. *
