Fred McKay attend the Lafayette fair this week. We understand that school be gins here Sept. 23. Joe Winslow audfami y of Brook are here visiting his parents. Ward Banes and wife are visit ing with Mrs. Dodge this week. Mrs. Moore and children' visited friends in Lafayette this week. Miss Mand Mercer of Chicago is spending this week here with the Dr. and wife. Cal Burrows and family of Bose Lawn spent Sunday with Mrs. Casey and family. Mrs. Fanny Cottingham has gone to Brookston to spend a couple cf weeks with her mother and other relatives. [ John Hickey who was shot a few weeks ago has so far recovered that he went back to work for Harris Monday morning. Mrs. Wood and daughter Edna started this Tuesday for Dakota where they will spend a few weeks with her married daughter and Charles and Boy Wood. About half the people of Fair Oaks attended the Mt Ayr carnival this week and some of them got pretty badly jolted and bruised up by the train, about the time they were going to get off and en joy the sights.
