Much Typhoid at Hammond.
Tuesday of this week it was estimated that there were between 150 and 180 cases of typhoid fever in Hammond, and no organized effort bad been made to fight the disease. St. Margaret’s hospital alone housed 30 cases of the disease. J. C, Canneberg, chairman of the board of health, said Wednesday that he believed the report of the number of cases was exaggerated, but that he would call a conference of the physicians to ascertain the extent of the disease. * ■' | Rye bread, made right, fresh daily.'
