Calamity Overtakes Speeding Automobilists.

A party ot automobilists iu a big White Steamer auto, who stopper at the Makeever House for dinner Thursday, while enroate from Chicago to Indianapolis, at a rate of speed like the devil was after them, which perhaps was the case, met. with an accident at Dayton, eight miles east of Lafayette, which place they reached about 4:46 p.m. The party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Aufterhide, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hawkins, with G. B. Swihart as chauffeur, all of Indi anapolis. At the end of a bridge in Dayton they met a man with ยป big load of corn and in turning out a little to pass him and one of wheels striking eome loose gravel the auto rolled over down a ten foot embankment. Mrs. Aufterhide was cut about the face and forehead and Mr. Haw Kins had his ankles badly burned. The auto was damaged about $l5O worth.
