Married Thirty-Seven Years, But Wants A Divorce.
Erastus Peacock of Rensselaer, the oldest mail clerk on the Monon Route and one of the oldest in the state, an old soldier and enthusiastic lddge man, has just filed a suit for divorce from his wife, Florence L. Peacock. They were married Jan. Ist 1868, or nearly 40 years ajo, and lived together until August 1906, or nearly 39 years. Cruel and inhuman treatment is assigned as the cause for divorce, and the particulars stated are refusal to cohabit with the plaintiff, and failure and refusal to care for him, and procure aid and medical attendance for him when sick. They have four children, consisting of two married daughters, and two minor sons, Noble S. 17 years old and Howard B. 14 years old. The plaintiff states that the only property he possesses is the ten acre tract on the west side of town where hisresidencebas long beeu, and that it was bought with his own money, and the court is asked to adjudicate the property rights of the parties, therein.
